Why and How?
Our Purpose
It is evident that e-waste is a huge issue on the global scale; therefore, we wanted to make a system that worked to eliminate this problem.
Additionally, after speaking with many mentors, we realized that even though foreign countries are accepting our e-waste right now, there will eventually come a point where this is no longer the case, and they refuse our waste.
As the change-makers of tomorrow, we decided to come up with a solution that would combat this incoming issue, and provide Canadians with an efficient way to recycle within Canada so that we would have a backup plan for the future.
We also realized that over 23 000 children in British Columbia didn't have their own personal devices in 2020 during the virtual learning part of the COVID 19 pandemic. After learning this, we wanted to make a difference.
The Stats
Global:

According to the Global E-waste Monitor
2020 report, 53.6 million tonnes of e-waste were dumped globally.
Only 17.4% of it was recycled.

Canada:

Canada produces approximately

725 000 tonnes of e-waste each year
Only 20% of this e-waste is properly recycled.

How do we do it?
(The Customer Journey)
Step 1
Get your tech
We get your technology though our secure drop-off boxes that are available through our school drives, and at various locations around Vancouver. More specifically, we target tech hubs, grocery stores, and retail stores that are part of many people's daily outings. We also have a very efficient mail system that provides even more convenience.
After this, your job is done and the rest is up to us!

Step 2
At Headquarters
After receiving the technology from all drop-off boxes, we assess all technology based on the forms that you filled out prior to your dropping off your items.
If the technology can be repaired, it goes through that process and then is donated to schools with children who are without technology.
If this is not the case, and the device is entire destroyed, they are divided by laptops and computers and then dismantled accordingly.

Step 3
Sortation
During this process, we take the broken down parts of the technology and work to sort and separate them into various useful products (chips, motherboards, batteries, etc...)
For extra non-recyclable products, we send them to other facilities to be melted into rare earth metals, or to be burned and turned into energy. This ensures that we remain eco-friendly.

Step 4
Sales and Distribution
After this is done, we take the deconstructed products and package and distribute them to any small Canadian businesses that might want to sue our service. For example, we are currently linked with tow school robotics teams in Vancouver.
